My Story
I am originally from the Bay Area of California but have wanted to move to Portland since I visited it high school. I moved to the Portland area to pursue a career in counseling and have since grown a great appreciation for the PNW. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, reading, getting together with friends, and spending quality time with my cats.
Treatment Philosophy
As a mental health counselor, it is my intention to facilitate an environment in which personal growth, healing, and insight can flourish. I am primarily guided by the tenets of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a therapeutic framework that empowers individuals to change their relationship with their thoughts and past experiences in order to lead a more meaningful life.
I also incorporate the use of humor, mindfulness, and person-centered approaches in my practice. My background working in a wide variety of therapeutic settings lends to my belief that each individual is the expert of their own life and that all people inherently possess the tools to foster a meaningful and valuable life. As a therapist, it is my job to help you access and appreciate your innate gifts. Taking the first steps to begin your wellness journey can feel scary, vulnerable, and unknown. The act of initiating your health journey is a testament to the courage you possess to confront the painful parts of life and blaze a new trail. You deserve to live the meaningful, valuable, and fulfilling life you desire. I am affirming of individuals of all backgrounds, races, genders, sexual-orientations, and differing abilities. I have experience working with teens and adults on a variety of matters including trauma, life transitions, identity concerns, depression, anxiety, and more.
