My Story

I was born in upstate New York, spent several years living throughout Texas, and have made Portland my home for the last 20 years. The thing I value most about living here is having all the rich parks, forests, beaches, and mountains all close by. I love being out in nature, camping, playing music, traveling, reading, writing, roaming around bookstores, and hanging with my kid and friends.

Treatment Philosophy

My aim in our work together is to provide a caring, non-judgmental, reflective space to find acceptance for life's challenges and to create meaningful change out of those challenges and transitions. My therapeutic approaches focus on compassionate acceptance, personal values, and a deep understanding of the multifaceted nature of the self. I have significant experience working with the LGBTQIA+ community, neurodivergence, unconventional relationship styles, and sexual diversity. I have a passion for working with those experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, LGBTQIA+ issues, grief and heartbreak. My work centers around being a trusted partner committed to your growth, healing, and well-being. My goal is to help you create a life of curiosity and authenticity, equipped with the tools and insights that help you find light through the dark.

Treatment Focuses

  • LGBTQ Issues: I have 5 years of clinical experience working primarily with with LGBTQ+ clients, supporting them in navigating issues related to identity, relationships, self-esteem and resilience.

  • Gender Identity: I have extensive experience supporting clients exploring gender identity, offering affirming care around transition, letters of support, and navigating societal and interpersonal challenges.

  • Loss or Grief: I've supported clients through significant experiences of grief and loss, helping them process their emotions, find meaning, and navigate life after loss.

  • Anxiety: I have worked extensively with clients experiencing anxiety, using an ACT-based approach that helps reduce stress, build resilience, and move towards a more values-driven life.

  • Relationship Issues: I have experience helping clients navigate a wide range of relationship issues, including friendships, family dynamics, romantic partnership, and unconventional relationship styles. I believe our connection with others is central to our well-being and can be powerful sources of personal growth and self-discovery.
